GA-EMS has an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Qualification Engineer with the Radiation Monitoring Systems team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Our team designs and maintains mechanical, electrical, and software systems used in nuclear power plants across the world to detect and monitor radiation. This role will be responsible for qualifying radiation monitoring systems and equipment to nuclear safety-related standards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Generate plans, procedures and reports for qualifications of mechanical and electrical equipment for use in nuclear safety related applications: - Seismic testing per IEEE 344 - Environmental testing per IEEE 383 including total integrated dose testing. - Electromagnetic Compatibility testing per NRC R.G 1.180 and EPRI TR-102323. - Perform advanced calculations and modeling to support qualification decisions - As part of the change management process, review design changes to ensure that equipment meets qualification requirements. - Develop critical characteristic acceptance plans for safety related equipment. - Review customer orders and verify that equipment meets the customers' qualification requirements.
