What we collect

Browsing without signup: anonymous page-view and click counts via Plausible Analytics (self-hosted). No cookies, no fingerprinting, no individual tracking.

Search-result interactions: to improve job ranking, FewerJobs stores short-lived anonymous first-party event logs for job search results. Those logs can include random IDs for one ranked response, one page load, event dedupe, and result exposures; route, page, result count, sort, ranking policy, and schema version markers; redacted HMAC query and filter hashes; safe query and filter features such as term count, filter categories, role IDs, and salary buckets; job result IDs, result surface, page and absolute positions; small ranking feature snapshots such as score and benefit flags; event type such as result_seen, detail_click, or apply_click; link kind, apply surface, client and server timestamps, and whitelisted metadata such as visible-time buckets or same-origin destination. At a human level, this tells us which anonymous result positions were seen, opened, or sent to apply; raw rows roll up into anonymous aggregate counts used for ranking quality.

If you sign up for the weekly digest: just your email and any free-text "interests" you tell us. Stored in our backend; sent to Resend (our email provider) for delivery. We do not sell, share, or rent this list.

What we don't collect

Cookies

FewerJobs does not use cookies for analytics or search-result events. Browser-only preferences, such as saved filters, hidden employers, and applied badges, may stay in your browser storage on your device; they are not used as analytics identifiers.

International visitors

FewerJobs serves the same public site to visitors regardless of country. Some listings, benefits, and filters are U.S.-focused because that is where the current source coverage is strongest, but everyone gets the same public site.

Delete my data

Email [email protected]. We delete digest or subscriber data within 7 days and confirm. Anonymous search-result event rows are not tied to a name, email, account, or durable visitor ID, so we cannot look them up for a named person. Raw event rows that include pageview IDs are kept for up to 30 days; anonymous ranked-response and result-exposure rows are kept for up to 90 days; long-term ranking data is aggregate counts by day, hashed query and filter, result, position, surface, and ranking policy.
