This position performs a wide variety of laboratory and equipment tests. Assists with delegated minor procedures and treatments including obtaining and maintaining necessary equipment and supplies, positioning patient, and ensuring comfort and privacy. Provides patient and family health education or instruction, to include self-management, prevention and wellness. Collects blood, urine, or other specimens in a courteous manner from clinic outpatients for a wide variety of requested laboratory and technical equipment tests, including timed specimens, fasting specimens, and peak and trough drug levels. Adheres to safety, infection control, and universal precautions always while collecting and processing blood, urine, or other specimens. Instructs patients in procedures to be followed prior, during, and after tests providing a schedule to patients when required.
