The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position operates through the Outdoor Recreation Division aboard NAS Whidbey Island. The employee will guide a variety of outdoor adventure program trips and adventures. Duties Activities include but are not limited to hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing, and camping. Assist in planning and supervision of outdoor recreational trips, tours, and special events. Incumbent will be required to properly fit and outfit customers with a variety of outdoor recreational rental equipment. Will attend pre-trip meetings; be involved with all post trip evaluations, cleaning, and proper storage of equipment used. May perform maintenance functions on a variety of outdoor recreation equipment; provide information to patrons on outdoor recreation programs, equipment, services, hours of operation, current regulations, and other outdoor recreation information.
