Federal HR Subject Matter Expert (Future Opportunity) Reston, VA The Federal HR Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a critical role in ensuring that HR processes and system configurations fully comply with federal regulations and best practices. This role provides authoritative guidance on federal HR policy, operations, and compliance while translating complex regulatory requirements into effective Workday PaaS solutions. Serving as a trusted advisor and primary liaison between HR stakeholders and the implementation team, the SME ensures accurate system design, successful adoption, and alignment with government standards throughout the lifecycle of the program. Key Responsibilities: Provides in-depth expertise on federal HR policies, processes, and regulatory requirements. Ensures Workday PaaS configurations and processes align with federal mandates and HR best practices. Key responsibilities include advising on federal HR regulations, compliance, and processes to ensure all activities align with government standards. The role involves translating federal HR requirements into Workday PaaS specifications, validating Workday PaaS configurations and process designs for accuracy and effectiveness, and supporting testing, training, and change management initiatives. Additionally, the individual serves as the primary liaison between HR stakeholders and the implementation team, facilitating clear communication and successful project execution. Basic Qualifications: 8 years federal HR experience (policy, operations, advisory). 3 years with cloud HR systems; at least 1 Workday PaaS HCM or comparable large HR system implementation. Additional Qualifications: Strong knowledge of federal HR regulations (Title 5, OPM guidance, merit principles, SES, federal pay/leave, labor relations).
