AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL) Iwakuni, Japan Summary You will serve as a AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL) in the STATION AIR FIELD OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. *** Employees (and their family members) who require medical or dental care in Japan may experience severe limitations accessing medical care both on the military installation and the local economy, and also could incur costly medical expenses. Duties You will provide safe, orderly, and expeditious air traffic control support and services to aircraft transiting, originating, or terminating in the installation's delegated terminal ensuring training airspace availability for aircraft operations. You will perform radar control duties as defined and regulation in applicable DoD, Host nation, and local directives, orders, regulations. You will perform tower control duties; coordinates and controls U.S. military, Japan military, civil airline, and civilian general aviation traffic and determines actions with other controllers and issues instructions to pilot almost simultaneously. You will provide instruction, training and assistance to the military, civilian, and contractor personnel and provides basic and advanced training for personnel to meet requirements for Air Traffic Control qualifications. You will be responsible for the overall operations of eight position TRACON or the four position control tower and maintains awareness of air traffic, range operations, ground aircraft, and ground vehicle movement. You will provide emergency response assistance to aircraft and vehicles operating in the vicinity of the airport and on the airfield and activates
