About this role
Strategic Agentic Modernisation Consultant, AWS Professional Services Perth, Western Australia, AUS AWS Professional Services is seeking a Strategic Modernisation Consultant to lead a landmark Agentic AI-powered application modernisation program for one of Australia's largest mining and resources companies. This is a Perth-based engagement to modernise a complex, business-critical legacy platform using generative & agentic AI tooling, domain-driven decomposition, and cloud-native architecture patterns - compressing what would traditionally be a multi-year modernisation effort into an accelerated timeline. You will be the senior technical and consulting leader for the engagement, responsible for modernisation strategy, executive stakeholder management, multi-partner delivery orchestration, and value realisation. You will lead a cross-functional team of 14+ engineers and architects across three parallel delivery squads, working alongside a global management consulting partner and the customer's internal technology teams. Key job responsibilities Strategic Leadership - Own the end-to-end modernisation strategy - from GenAI tooling productionisation through domain decomposition to legacy system retirement - Define and sequence modernisation waves, balancing technical risk, business impact, and resource constraints - Shape program commercial structure, including resource mix, investment trade-offs, and statement of work design - Translate technical progress into business value language for executive and Board-level audiences Executive Engagement - Operate as a trusted advisor to the customer's CDIO and senior technology leadership at peer level - Partner with delivery partners, including global management consulting leaders, maintaining accountability for technical outcomes
