The Meta Robotics Hardware team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. This role is pivotal in tackling mechanical design problems we face including designing and developing complex robotics that balance ergonomics, performance, reliability, and usability while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This role will be part of a team responsible for initial concept development, analytical modeling, prototype design, construction, and testing. Candidates should be experienced working in a high ambiguity, fast-paced environment where full system requirements are seldom known. This team is dedicated to building hardware that enables learning through data collection and testing. Responsibilities: - Design and Development: Mechanical design and analysis problems for prototype robotics structures, mechanisms, power transmissions, and systems integration while balancing ergonomics, performance, reliability, weight, and maintainability - Supporting prototype fabrication and builds: Working with internal/external partners to support part fabrication
