About this role
Data Engineer, 3P Geo Data Operations Dublin, Ireland As the Data Engineer, Geo Operations, you will be responsible for leading the technical implementation for Geo partners, focusing on data systems and pipelines. You'll be responsible for designing and managing complex data, and acting as the "voice of the partner" in product feature prioritization discussions. This involves collaborating with internal product and engineering teams, as well as external partners, to increase the efficiency of how we implement Geo products. The main focus for our team is building and sustaining robust data pipelines that accelerate vector-based geospatial data product creation and curation. The team's efforts directly address key operational challenges in data processing, tracking, and quality for the goal of delivering improved pipeline scale and reliability, reduced manual effort, and faster data delivery and publishing to Google Maps. We employ data engineering best practices in leveraging Google internal and Cloud infrastructure for building and maintaining Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) capabilities. We also deploy and manage industry-standard geospatial infrastructure and tooling, integrating such with Google-based technologies. Finally, we serve as an internal incubator to explore and test promising AI applications that can further enhance our capabilities. The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more.
