Mechanical Insulator Carlsbad, New Mexico Position Summary As a Mechanical Insulator in the oil and gas sector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and safety of industrial systems. Your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, and repair insulation materials on pipes, tanks, and equipment to prevent heat loss, reduce energy consumption, and protect personnel from hazardous temperatures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials on various industrial components, including pipes, vessels, and machinery, adhering to industry standards and specifications. Inspect existing insulation systems for wear and tear and perform necessary repairs or replacements to maintain optimal insulation performance. Follow all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Choose the right insulation materials based on temperature, environment, and application requirements, including fiberglass, foam, and mineral wool. Maintain accurate records of insulation work completed, materials used, and any safety incidents. Work closely with engineers, construction teams, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
