Physician - Psychiatrist (PCMHI) Iowa City, Iowa Summary The Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System (ICVAHCS) is seeking a full-time Physician - Psychiatrist (Primary Care Mental Health Integration) to join the Mental Health Service Line at the VAMC Iowa City, IA. Note: This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT through September 9, 2026. The first referral cut-off is July 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST, with monthly cut-offs on the 1st. Applications received after each cut-off will be reviewed as needed until the position is filled. Duties The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran. This is done in the context of healing relationships and healing environments and a connection back to the Veteran's community. This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. The psychiatrist will function within the concept of physician with training in Mental Health diseases. These functions shall include: Obtain an appropriate health history and physical examination on patients who present to the Outpatient Psychiatry, Inpatient Psychiatry, Urgent Care, Inpatient Medical
