INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/PHYSICIST Patuxent River, Maryland Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the STRL Mission Support Direct Hire Authority. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. Duties You will serve as an electro-optical technical subject matter expert in support of Department of War programs and technical initiatives. You will review and provide inputs to documentation in support of the acquisition of electro-optical systems. You will perform research and analysis of electro-optical systems utilizing modeling and simulation tools and other resources. You will support various projects within a dynamic team to meet performance, as well as cost and schedule requirements for the program(s). You will collaborate with other electro-optical subject matter experts to share lessons learned and enhance the growth of the organization. You will be required to support program efforts on-site at your duty station and occasionally travel to support on-site meetings with government/industry partners. Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Engineers: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering
