Power Plant Mechanic (TC-I) Rufus, Oregon Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: In this position, you will serve as a journey-level Power Plant Mechanic at a multipurpose hydroelectric facility. Full performance responsibilities are listed below. Duties Perform general powerhouse mechanical equipment maintenance. Perform machine work of varying degrees of difficulty and exactness. Perform a variety of types of welding (oxygen-acetylene, shielded metal-arc, TIG, MIG). Install and repair piping systems. Perform a variety of types of cutting (oxygen-acetylene, carbon-arc), brazing, and soldering operations. Maintain metal working equipment and accessories. Operate the full range of hoisting equipment, from tuggers, manlifts, and shop cranes, through large bridge, and gantry cranes, up to and including mobile cranes and live-boom hoisting equipment. Perform rigging for all routine work in accordance with established rigging practice.
