About this role
Assistant Chemist, Resin Research Country / Location China About The Role - Conduct both experimental and theoretical research work in chemistry and application area under the guidance of Research Scientists. - Actively drive the technical development and knowledge gain for BASF on respective research fields How You Will Do It - Support resin plant production for automotive coating applications, focusing on E-coat and clearcoat resins. - Catalyst development - organic and inorganic - and evaluation of crosslinking chemistries. - Conduct lab-scale resin/polymer synthesis, interpret analytical results (e.g., GPC, DSC, IR), prepare technical reports - Develop and optimize resin products for coating-related research topics (e.g., metal surface pretreatment) - Interdisciplinary collaboration with R&D and production colleagues on troubleshooting and project planning tasks - Ensure high reproducibility and accurate documentation of experimental results in electronic lab journal - Help maintain lab equipment and perform general lab assignments (e.g., chemical inventory and lab housekeeping) - Literature and patents search. - Be ready to coach new colleagues in resin know-how and lab management. What We Look For - Master's degree in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, or a related field. - Fresh graduate, internship and laboratory experience in coatings or chemical industry preferred. - Profound knowledge about catalysis and catalyst design/action.
