About this role

Staff, Manufacturing Engineer Shenzhen, CHN Summary: Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Duties & Responsibilities: Manufacturing (CM Support) - Optical products, manufacturing testing TITLE Staff Engineer, Manufacturing testing DEPARTMENT CM Ops Asia REPORTS TO Manufacturing Engineering Manager Overview: Onsite support for CM (ShenZhen) and interface with remote teams at the NPI sites. Provide expertise on the product operation and triage issues escalated by the CM. Be new/sustaining test lead on Viavi's product. Involved in test applications and processes development. Production yield improvement activities Support NPI organization for new product releases - prototype and pilot builds. Train CM team on new product processes for testing and ensure all Work Instructions are in place. Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and work with both internal and external 3rd party Support implementation of formal continuous improvement activities within Optical product lines at the CM. This position may require up to 20% international travel Qualifications and Experience BS degree or equivalent in Electrical, Optical or Manufacturing test Engineering 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing test process development experience . - optical and electromechanical products (motor driven assemblies, lenses, cameras, lasers, and optical fiber).
