Purpose of the Role We are looking for a Senior DBA (Microsoft SQL Server) to join our global data platform team at Scotiabank. In this role, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end operational support for Microsoft data platform services, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of both cloud and on-premise environments. Reporting to the DBA Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and evolving our database infrastructure in a dynamic, high-impact environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, configure, and deploy MS SQL servers in cloud and on-premise environments Monitor, optimize performance, and maintain overall database health Perform routine maintenance such as database rebuilds, reindexing, expansion, and archiving Troubleshoot SQL Server issues and support application-related incidents Execute server upgrades, migrations, and patching activities Support database code deployments and data fixes following change management processes Implement and support Disaster Recovery and High Availability (DR/HA) strategies Manage backup and recovery of local and replicated databases Provide DBA support to development and implementation projects (installations, migrations, testing, data loading) Participate in incident management and collaborate with cross-functional teams Provide
