About this role
Strategic Infrastructure Modernisation Consultant, AWS Professional Services Perth, Western Australia, AUS AWS Professional Services is seeking a Strategic Infrastructure Modernisation Consultant to lead the design and deployment of a modern digital foundations architecture and enterprise AI platform for one of Australia's largest mining and resources companies. This is a Perth-based engagement to implement an edge-to-cloud architecture across 18 remote operational sites, scale an AI platform from initial deployment to enterprise-grade operations supporting 500+ concurrent agents, and deliver a sequenced pipeline of AI use cases. The program has already validated the target architecture and deployed the initial AI platform during its first year. You will be the senior technical leader for the platform and infrastructure stream, responsible for architecture implementation, multi-site rollout, AI platform hardening, and operational transition. You will lead a team of 7 engineers spanning MLOps/DevOps, cloud platform, network/IoT, and data engineering. Key job responsibilities Platform and Architecture Leadership - Lead implementation of the approved target architecture (edge-to-cloud, security, connectivity, observability) across operational sites - Harden the AI platform for enterprise-scale operations - 500+ concurrent agent capacity, full governance framework, CI/CD pipelines - Deploy repeatable patterns for scalable site-by-site rollout - Implement modern data transfer patterns from edge-to-cloud with single-source-of-truth data access - Integrate with existing third-party platforms AI Platform Scale-Out - Scale production agents across Operations, Maintenance, and Commercial domains - Implement full governance framework - guardrails, audit trails, cost accounting, agent lifecycle management - Enable citizen development patterns - self-service agent creation with appropriate guardrails Executive Engagement
