About this role

Network Dev Engineer II, ONE Access Engineering (LAN) Dublin, IRL The OpsTech Networking Core team builds and operates the LAN infrastructure that powers Amazon's global fulfillment centers, transportation sites, and grocery operations. The team manages campus network architecture, LAN switching, network segmentation, and large-scale network automation across thousands of sites worldwide, supporting hundreds of thousands of LAN devices at massive scale. We are seeking a Network Development Engineer II to design and implement next-generation LAN architecture. You will work on initiatives that improve network reliability through self-healing automation that detects and remediates LAN infrastructure incidents autonomously, eliminate proprietary switching dependencies to enable maintenance-free operations, and modernize network designs by replacing legacy vendor-locked architectures with scalable, vendor-agnostic solutions using commodity hardware and open protocols. Your work will directly impact network uptime, operational efficiency, and the ability to launch and support new sites across Amazon's global operations. Key job responsibilities As an NDE II on the Core team, you will solve complex technical problems involving enterprise LAN switching and routing, campus network design, network segmentation architecture, and large-scale configuration automation. You will design solutions that are scalable, testable, maintainable, and efficient. You will work with technologies including EVPN, LISP, BGP, OSPF, VRF segmentation, and commodity networking hardware running Software Defined Infrastructure.
