About this role
Data Center Operations Manager, Osaka Osaka, JPN The Data Center Operations Manager leads a team of front line server engineers providing critical server and network maintenance in AWS data centers. You and your team provide 24/7 front line support, act as first responders to incidents, and support the development and implementation of improvements to maintenance procedures and practices. Data Center Managers must be effective people leaders able to hire, grow, and evaluate talent on an ongoing basis to meet business needs in a rapidly evolving technical environment. You must be able to work independently to manage your team effectively and be able to determine when it is necessary to escalate challenges. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. Key job responsibilities Safety, Security & Availability • Create and maintain safe work environment • Drive understanding and adherence to technical standards • Ensure immediate remediation when standards aren't met • Lead emergency response preparation and execution • Manage proper escalation processes • Deliver capacity aligned with customer needs People Development & Process Improvement • Develop professional data center skills across team • Executing performance evaluations • Provide coaching and managing performance • Establish clear career paths and promotion opportunities • Lead innovations to reduce costs and risks • Drive sharing of operational improvements • Implement process standardization and optimization Leadership & Execution • Lead and develop a team of data center technicians • Prioritize, assign, and review repair work to meet
