Senior Flight Software Engineer Irvine, CA | OnSite The Senior Flight Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software that controls and manages spacecraft systems and operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that flight software meets performance, reliability, and mission-specific requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Design, develop, and own critical flight software solutions for spacecraft and satellite systems. - Provide support for flight software during mission operations. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues that arise during testing and in-flight operations. - Support and mentor a team of dedicated flight software engineers. - Develop and execute test plans to validate flight software functionality. Write simulation code and perform integration and system-level testing to ensure software meets specifications. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Systems, Hardware, Mission Operations, etc.) to ensure communication and functionality across disciplines. - Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for flight software, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing and implementing new software standards, processes, and best practices. QUALIFICATIONS Prior Aerospace experience not required. Looking for impassioned software engineers who want to solve hard problems.
