About this role
Mechanical Engineer Houston, TX Job Purpose Provides engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction. Job Description Support the design and development of AC synchronous permanent magnet or Induction motors and generators through design for manufacturing components and assemblies. Improve existing machine designs by identifying and implementing performance-enhancing modifications. Oversee hardware build and testing activities to validate design integrity and ensure compliance with specifications, where applicable. Collaborate with project teams or work independently to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, reporting to the Manager Engineering Motor and Power System. Design and specify motor including its components for NPD, PLM, and project upgrades. Perform FEA analysis on motor components with guidance for a senior engineer. Ability to review and understand Electromagnetic, Stress, Rotodynamics and Thermal analysis to ensure design requirements are met. Develop datasheets, specifications, and drawing with support from Drafters. Prepare and maintain documentation including P&ID, CSEL, procedures (preservation, maintenance, transportation and etc.), and engineering calculations (stack up analysis, bolt torques and etc.).
