IT NETWORK AUTOMATION ENGINEER SpaceX is looking for an experienced Sr. Network Automation Engineer to help build the tools necessary to support our large and growing network infrastructure. This employee will be a member of the IT Network Engineering team, which is responsible for maintaining a stable, reliable and diverse network. This network supports the designing, manufacturing and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites as well as human space flight. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document their work, excel at multi-tasking and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Build network automation tools to support switch configurations, config backups, software updates, logging, monitoring and alerting - Create Python scripts to automate manual network processes - Measure, maintain, and improve the uptime and performance of the corporate network - Act as technical product owner for infrastructure tools and software used by the network engineering team - Innovate ways to scale with automation and operational improvements - Collaborate closely with network engineers to create highly operable and maintainable infrastructure - Provide mentorship to junior engineers BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline and 5+ years of network
