What you'll do: As a Principal Engineer you'll be at the heart of building world-class systems for Sky. You will be responsible for contributing to, and helping shape the technical direction of the department , while helping us deliver on the technical aspects our departmental vision . Set and maintain the long-term technical strategy in collaboration with team members, and lead critical architectural decisions across their codebase in collaboration with senior leadership. Provide technical leadership across entire codebases, acting as a subject matter expert and key decision maker for architecture, scalability, and system reliability. Define strategic technical direction and develop actionable plans to improve KPIs. Shape the engineering culture and establish technical standards that promote consistency, reusability, and high-quality development practices across the organization. Making good decisions about when to invest in building solutions ourselves , when to buy off-the-shelf and when to partner with 3rd parties .
