About this role
Manager Software Development Chennai, India, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India NETGEAR is looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the development of the Enterprise Access Point product line. This role is responsible for managing and mentoring a high-performing engineering team while driving the delivery of robust, high-quality Wi-Fi 7 hardware and software solutions. You will work closely with product management, systems, QA, and operations teams to deliver enterprise-grade wireless products that meet performance, reliability, and schedule commitments. Key Responsibilities Technical & People Leadership - Lead and manage a team of firmware and/or systems engineers developing Wi-Fi access points - Provide technical direction, architecture guidance, and design review leadership - Mentor engineers, support career growth, and build a strong ownership culture Program Execution - Own execution plans, schedules, and deliverables for assigned product releases - Drive on-time delivery across multiple parallel development tracks - Identify risks early and proactively drive mitigation plans Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with Product Management to translate requirements into technical execution - Work with QA, Systems, and Sustaining teams to ensure product quality and field readiness - Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing and production readiness Quality & Reliability - Ensure best practices in design, code quality, reviews, and test coverage - Drive root-cause analysis for defects and field issues - Champion reliability, performance, and security across the product lifecycle Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field - 13+ years of experience in networking or embedded systems development -
