Junior Backend Engineer - Everyday Banking Berlin About the opportunity Join the Cards & Wallets Segment within our Everyday Banking Domain. We are committed to delivering a secure, seamless, and highly scalable card experience for all our global users. Operating out of our Berlin and Barcelona hubs, our team serves as the central engine for both domestic and international operations. You'll be stepping into a mature environment focused on high-stakes transaction processing. Our cross-functional teams are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge, as well as working with a high degree of autonomy. As a Backend Engineer at N26, you will be encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex, interesting problems on a daily basis. In this role, you will: - Architect, build, validate, and launch sophisticated software solutions - Uphold and optimize existing software systems - Oversee specific project goals, timelines, and technical outcomes - Exercise a significant level of professional autonomy - Collaborate with a diverse group of highly motivated international colleagues - Partner with teams that embody a proactive, results-oriented mindset What you need to be successful: Background: - Proven experience in software development using Kotlin or Java - A solid grasp of modern microservice architectural patterns. Skills: - The capacity to execute tasks independently - High levels of drive and an ability to learn quickly - A proactive approach to solving complex problems - Communication: professional fluency in spoken and written English Traits: - A powerful drive toward action
