The Meta Robotics Studio is seeking a Research Engineer. This role is pivotal in tackling challenging mechanical/electrical design problems including designing and developing complex robotics that balance ergonomics, performance, reliability, and usability while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This role will be part of a cross-collaborative team responsible for initial concept development, analytical modeling, prototype design, construction, and testing; and it may involve research into Electro-mechanics, Sensor and Communication, and/or Planning and Control. Responsibilities: - Design and Development: mechanical and electrical system design and analysis problems for robotics structure, mechanisms, power transmissions, electric components, and systems integration while balancing ergonomics, performance, reliability - Supporting parts manufacture: Working with internal/external partners to support part fabrication and complex custom sub assembly - Assembly of robot: Hands on work in the lab constructing sub-assemblies to full system level robot
