About this role
Chief of Staff, Policy Washington, DC At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. Reporting to the Chief Policy Officer (CPO), the Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted strategic advisor, playing a key role in advancing our most critical initiatives, while driving operational effectiveness for the Policy team, owning planning, budgeting, headcount management, and team coordination. The ideal candidate is a master of cross-functional leadership, a practiced decision-maker, determined problem solver, and is highly capable of navigating competing demands and priorities while executing the strategic priorities of the CPO. Responsibilities: - Lead day-to-day operations and strategic planning; ranging from administrative approvals and task management, prioritizing meeting schedules, preparing and reviewing materials for executives, developing weekly and quarterly reports, overseeing annual planning and budgeting, and continuous monitoring of organizational design - Communicate priorities, activities, and results to the larger organization, while ensuring deliverables are met - Help build a successful and healthy organization: find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them, design optimal workflows, and align internal processes - Develop a thorough understanding of Product, Operations, Legal, Finance, and overall strategic needs of the company. Based on this, drive the priorities of the CPO by leading weekly team meetings, organizing and running team offsites, and identifying opportunities to increase leadership team effectiveness - Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CPO and Public Policy leadership
