Senior Manager, Software Development China - Shanghai (Puxi) Location: Shanghai, China (Global Engineering Hub) Organization Size: ~30 Engineers | 2-3 Engineering Managers Position Summary As the Senior Engineering Manager for the Mobile App team, you will be the strategic lead for our mobile engineering organization. You will move the team from a "task-driven" unit to a "mission-driven" powerhouse, overseeing the development and optimization of our native iOS and Android applications. You will be responsible for a team of approximately 30 engineers through a "manager of managers" structure, ensuring that our mobile platforms deliver elite-level customer experiences, performance, and stability for our global e-commerce audience. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Team Growth - Team Evolution: Directly manage and mentor 2-3 Engineering Managers; cultivate a high-performing, autonomous culture focused on ownership, continuous learning, and digital fluency. - Talent Strategy: Lead talent and succession planning, identifying internal high-potentials and utilizing strategic global sourcing to ensure team resilience. - Culture Reshaping: Reset the organization's culture from "executing tickets" to "owning outcomes," fostering a mission-driven mindset that eliminates cross-functional friction. Operational Excellence & Execution - Delivery Governance: Oversee project execution from concept to deployment, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery across high-stakes initiatives. - Agile Execution: Implement sophisticated performance frameworks to measure real engineering health, flow efficiency, and developer experience. - Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as a strategic partner to Product Managers, UX Designers, and other domain software managers to align the mobile roadmap with overarching business objectives.
