About this role
Senior Manager Engineering - Shelton, CT Shelton, CT Job Overview This position is responsible for the overall administration and management of engineering activities for the Wiring Device-Kellems product categories. The role encompasses the full scope of engineering functions, including research, concept development, design, specifi cation, and documentation for new and revised products, while supporting the New Product Development (NPD) process. In addition, this position drives key NPD initiatives, ensuring successful and timely product launches that meet strategic business objectives. It requires close collaboration with customers, channel partners, marketing, manufacturing, and both onshore and offshore engineering centers to incorporate customer requirements and ensure compliance with all applicable certifi cation standards. The role also provides senior management visibility into project status, oversees departmental and project budgets, and ensures alignment of engineering activities with the organization's long-term strategic plan. A Day In The Life Oversee staffing, training, organization, productivity, and overall management of the Wiring Device-Kellems engineering department. Manage assigned NPD projects and ensure timely & successful execution to the project schedule. Evaluate and assign work based on priorities and individual skills; conduct annual performance reviews. Identify and recommend process improvements and training to enhance efficiency. Apply DFMA principles to design work; designate testing requirements
