About this role

Institutional Sales Trainee Chicago, IL, United States Hilltop Securities is looking to hire a Junior Institutional Sales Trainee. The Junior Institutional Sales Trainee will provide administrative and operational support to a team of Salespeople on the trading floor. This is an exciting opportunity to learn the Institutional Sales role and progress into a junior sales position. The target start date for this role will be June or July of 2026. Answer client inquires over the phone and via email Assist Institutional Sales team with daily activities Troubleshoot trade problems, check hedges and confirm trades with clients and dealers back-office teams Maintain databases and files Support the administrative needs of the office Obtain the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful in the brokerage industry Bachelor's degree required (Finance or Econ preferred) Must have or be willing to obtain Series 7 & 63 licenses within six months of hire Desire to learn the Institutional Sales business Strong PC skills including knowledge of MS office products and the Bloomberg Terminal 1-2 years previous industry or sales experience preferred Team player, comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced, deadline-drive environment Ability to maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure Ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Highly motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit interested in working in a competitive environment Hours: 6am-6pm Monthly travel will be required to see clients Hilltop Securities is looking to hire a Junior Institutional Sales Trainee.
