About this role

Quality Engineer II General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive product quality with the supply chain across the entire lifecycle - from new product introduction (NPI) through sustaining production - while ensuring AS9100 compliance, robust quality systems, and continuous improvement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop new suppliers to ensure product and flow-down compliance with GA-ASI and customer requirements. - Identify and drive supplier and product improvements based on supplier performance and product compliance metrics. - Conduct comprehensive supplier audits and on-site inspections to evaluate manufacturing processes and adherence to quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100). - Perform root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and fishbone diagrams to identify and address quality problems effectively. - Identify and implement design or manufacturing changes to enhance quality, producibility, and cost efficiency. - Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement projects to improve yield and reduce nonconformance. - Support and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs). - Perform on-site or virtual product verification activities (Source Inspection) to ensure product compliance prior to shipment. - Provide technical support to receiving inspection personnel with the resolution of confirmed and suspected quality nonconformances. - Serve as a technical quality liaison across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve complex issues and ensure compliance. - We recognize and appreciate
