About this role

Supervisory Health System Specialist-GPM Salt Lake City, Utah Summary This position is located within the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center (VAMC) at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).The primary purpose of the Ambulatory Care Operations Director Group Practice Manager (ACOD-GPM) is to provide oversight and administrative management of all ambulatory care services in the VAMC and related Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) as it relates to access to care as applicable. Duties DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (5 CFR 337.201) for this occupation. Some of the duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following: Expertise in a wide variety of computer and data management packages and VA databases including Clinic Practice Management Dashboard, VISTA, CPRS, Clinic Assess Index, Access Glide Path, SAIL, SPARQ, SHEP, Pyramid. Review and evaluate system-wide training plans to optimize local use, propose improvement measures for efficiency and effectiveness, and maintain knowledge of clinic practice management. Review and provide input on nationally issued regulations and policies for VA-wide implementation, coordinate and align system performance measures and goals with system needs and specific requirements of national or VISN cooperative efforts. Identifies and analyzes problems; uses sound reasoning to arrive at conclusions; finds alternative solutions to complex problems; distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical judgments. Initiates, develops and executes complex projects, collaborating effectively in a lead role. Review and evaluate local processes and procedures to determine areas of effectiveness, efficiency, and improvement for proposal
