About this role

Staff Physician/Section Chief of Ambulatory Care Multiple Locations Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Duties VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. The Chief of Ambulatory Care position at the VA St. Louis will encompass the breadth of outpatient clinical care management of the Service in addition to supervision of other LIP's, staff and trainees assigned to the Service. The physician will have substantial clinical and administrative experience in a medical setting. Prior clinical and administrative experience with the VA is desirable. The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, an ability to work collaboratively with all the medical center's customers and stakeholders, an ability to build and work effectively within teams, and a solid commitment to increasing the VA's ability to improve the health of our nation's Veterans. Duties include but are no limited to: Primary Care of a panel of primary care patients (male and female) Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting;
