About this role
Social Worker - Suicide Prevention Fargo, North Dakota Summary The Fargo VA Health Care System is recruiting for 1 full-time Mental Health Counselor for the Suicide Prevention Program within the Mental Health Department. This vacancy will be filled by either a Social Worker or a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Duties VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU The incumbent functions as the Medical Center's Case Manager for the Suicide Prevention Program. The Suicide Prevention Program serves to facilitate implementation of suicide prevention strategies at the Fargo VA Health Care System and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). Activities include support for the identification of Veterans at high-risk; coordinating enhanced care when indicated; and education of providers, Veterans, families, and community agencies/individuals on the risk factors and warning signs for suicide and treatment options. The VA case management services are designed to improve/maintain Veterans' health and mental health, enhancing their ability to remain stable, housed, and community integrated. Services include provision of high quality clinical treatment, advocacy, and coordination of linkages to other appropriate VA or community service providers and agencies as needed by the client. This is accomplished in collaboration with other members of the MHC Team or other interdisciplinary treatment teams as appropriate. This position is located on the main campus of the Fargo VA Healthcare System.
