Physician _ Womens Health Bath, New York Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program and our Contract Buy Out Program The Bath, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Center serves the Southern Tier of New York state, located southwest of the beautiful Finger Lakes. With a primarily rural, small town setting, Bath can be a great place to find affordable housing, good schools, and raise a family. Duties The Physician (Primary Care-Women's Health) will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to ambulatory adult outpatients at the Bath VA Medical Center. Duties include the following but are not limited to: Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to accomplish patient, service, and medical center goals, promoting and embracing the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care, utilizing Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence (ICARE) values throughout the clinic. Provide Comprehensive Women's Health and Primary Care for female Veterans of all ages. Comprehensive Primary Care for Women Veterans includes gender-specific primary care screening for breast and cervical cancer and referral of abnormal findings to specialty services for appropriate follow-up, and basic contraceptive care; sexually transmitted infection (STI) treatment; management of menopause-related concerns; initial evaluation and treatment of conditions such as pelvic and abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, vaginal infection, urinary incontinence, breast masses, mastitis, etc. Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatients include both scheduled and unscheduled Veterans.
