The Surgical Hospitalist takes a comprehensive approach to caring for patients. Primary responsibility is for patient care in a team of caregivers who are experts in different specialties. Amendment: Job title has been amended to Surgical Hospitalist. Duties This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants will be referred each week for consideration until a selection is made. The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is seeking experienced Surgical Hospitalist. The Surgical Hospitalist takes a comprehensive approach to caring for patients. Primary responsibility is for patient care while leading a team of caregivers who are experts in different specialties. Surgical Hospitalist will oversee the many decisions involved with critically ill patient care and coordinates all the other services for optimal results. Will report to the Section Chief of Surgical Critical Care and Perioperative Care. Duties include, but not limited to: Oversights patient care on the surgery service in collaboration with the attending surgeon. Performs and document consultation on all patients. Writes orders and perform rounds. Performs and documents diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of individual clinical privileges.
