About this role
Physician - Service Chief/Geriatrics and Extended Care Queens, New York Summary The New York Harbor VAMC, St. Albans Campus, is recruiting for a full time Service Chief for Geriatrics and Extended Care (CLC). The Service Chief is accountable to the Executive Chief of Staff for the organization and delivery of intermediate inpatient and outpatient medical care provided at the ECC and its outpatient clinics. This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus for highly qualified candidates. Duties This position is located at the St. Albans Campus of the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System. VA New York Harbor provides care to eligible Veterans via 3 medical centers and 2 community-based outpatient clinics. The Margaret Cochran VA Campus is a high complexity facility located in Manhattan with a major educational affiliation with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. The Brooklyn Campus provides acute inpatient medical and surgical services with a major affiliation with SUNY-Health Science Center - Brooklyn. The St. Albans Campus houses a community living center as well as outpatient services. The Service Chief of GEC directs the educational and performance improvement activities on the St. Albans campus, integrating them and the delivery of medical care with the facility's mission, vision, and strategic plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: A. Administrative Responsibilities: (1) Ensures that extended care services are aligned with the facility's mission, vision and strategic plan. Provides input as requested to the strategic plan. (2) Provides for the integration of medical care with other services
