About this role

Physician (Psychiatrist) SARRTP/PTSD Memphis, Tennessee Summary The psychiatrist performs general psychiatric assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team. The psychiatrist will work closely with their colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art mental health care. This position is primarily assigned to the Substance Abuse/PTSD Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, but the incumbent will provide psychiatric care to Veterans across the Medical Center. Duties NOTE: The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this position. For more information, refer to Required Documents below. This vacancy will remain open until filled. Duties include, but are not limited to: The psychiatrist will perform evaluations, diagnosis(es), treatments, medication management and preventions of mental health disorders. Perform comprehensive examinations and assessments, determining diagnosis(es), and completing medical work-ups, including admissions and discharges. Develop and implement treatment plans, referring to other specialties or appropriate community resources. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team and collaborates with providers across the Medical Center. Provide appropriate clinical documentation of patient care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a timely manner. Training regarding the use of CPRS will be provided by the VAMC. All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures. Ensure accreditation requirements are met for all applicable survey and inspection processes to include, but are not limited to compliance with JCHACO, CARF, and OIG. Follow all VA guidelines regarding infection control and safety. Adhere to all quality performance measures. Provide examinations/reviews as assigned to support Mental Health services. Collaborate with contracted community Mental Health programs
