Duties We are seeking an enthusiastic physician for an exciting full time position in Boston, Massachusetts in vibrant and diverse clinics. The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring that excellent, high-quality care is provided to our Veteran population in Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in Plymouth, Quincy, Framingham, and Lowell. These four practices total 24 providers for > 8000 patients. This full-time position includes approximately 51% clinical time and 49% administrative time. This person will be the Medical Director for the five VA Boston Community Based Outpatient Clinics.VA Primary Care Physicians manage a complex panel of patients in collaborative teams. Appointment lengths are 60 minutes for new patients and 30 minutes for all other appointments. Telephone and video care are encouraged. Each physician is assigned a registered nurse, clinical associate, and scheduler. There is no call, and no weekend or holiday duty. Key responsibilities include: Working as a member of the management team to provide oversight of practice management including direct provider supervision, operational issues and clinical performance. The Medical Director will have clinical time at one of the clinics above, providing longitudinal care to a panel of medically complex and diverse patients. Developing local educational initiatives for providers and trainees. Implementing clinical quality improvement initiatives. Physicians provide general and gender-specific care to adult men and women.
