About this role

Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology (Interdisciplinary) Temple, Texas Summary You will serve as a medicine service Physician Assistant working to provide the full range of Oncology/Hematology provider services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission. You will provide advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management of an assigned panel of patients with Oncology/Hematology disease in the outpatient clinic setting. Duties Diagnose and treat acute and chronic hematology/oncology conditions Perform and assist with procedures including biopsies Coordinate and supervise delivery of outpatient hematology/oncology care Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes and treatments consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare providers Prescribe medications and adjunctive therapies within scope Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, radiology, and pathology Triage consultation requests and coordinate tests based on clinical urgency Develop and implement comprehensive plans of care in accordance with standards Serves as primary hematology/oncology provider for and assigned patient panel Communicate findings and management plans with patients or surrogates Lead interdisciplinary efforts to endure continuity of care across settings VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
