About this role
Physician-Anesthesiology Madison, Wisconsin Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Duties Physicians appointed to and assigned to the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital will function as independent licensed practitioners. The candidate will (1) hold a full and unrestricted license in any state; (2) have completed a three-year residency in good standing, and (3) have passed or be eligible to take the certifying examination in a core specialty. Preference will also be given to those with experience or additional training. Major duties, but not limited to: Responsible for direct provision of peri-operative anesthetic care and ensuring the facility and program are meeting and exceeding compliance standards. Provides peri-operative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anesthetic, administration and monitoring of post-anesthesia care in compliance with national accreditation standards. The Anesthesiologist will provide expert consultation and guidance to CRNA, nursing, and other medical staff in the administration of the anesthesia programs. The incumbent will perform the administrative components of patient care management such as completion of progress notes, OP reports, and discharge summaries.
