About this role
Ophthalmologist - Retina Specialist Albany, New York Summary This position is located at the Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, New York and supports the Ophthalmology Section of the Surgery Service. If selected, you will provide support to the eye clinic, inpatient services, eye operating room, and Emergency Department. You will follow established guidelines, ethics, polices, and protocols of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Stratton VAMC, and the profession. You will function as a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire staff. Duties Your basic responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): Providing comprehensive clinical and surgical ophthalmological care to our Veteran patients. Providing diagnostic and therapeutic services in inpatient and outpatient settings, ordering diagnostic studies and procedures, and perform surgical and non-surgical general ophthalmology procedures. Supervising ophthalmology residents in the eye clinic, short procedure room, laser room and the operating room. Initiating changes in the system for delivering care based on evidence-based medicine research and /or studies. Assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs. Effectively and creatively teaching and providing guidance to others involved in the delivery of the educational program. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
