About this role

Laundry Supervisor Queens, New York Summary The position is in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), VISN 2, Textile Care Facility at the VA New York Harbor Health Care System in the Environmental Management Service (EMS). The primary purpose of the position is to have incumbent supervise the activities of the Laundry Workers and Laundry Machine Operators that are engaged in the Textile Care services of the hospital. Duties Typical work direction duties include but not limited to: 1. Assign, direct, evaluate subordinate work performance and review the work of Laundry Workers via verbal or written communication. 2. Plan, schedule, and coordinate work operations such as but not limited to: cleaning and loading laundry. 3. Observe work in progress and solve problems related to the work supervised; investigate work related problems and determine causes; develop and implement corrective actions within incumbents delegated authority to resolve work problems. 4. Report possible or actual work delays to higher level supervisors; and inspect completed work for quality and work order requirements. As a Laundry Worker Supervisor, incumbent assist the Laundry Operations Specialist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the Facility Textile Care Management program as it relates to the assigned unit and/or T&L. Incumbent assists in the justification for staffing, supplies and equipment, establishing and implementing on the job instruction and safety program, schedules, standards and performance requirements. Incumbent must follow guidelines including Federal, state and local environmental statutes, regulatory interpretations, Executive Orders, and VA directives and policies. Adhere
