Hematology/ Oncology Physician ( Specialty Medicine) Columbus, Ohio Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Duties The Columbus VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus Ohio is looking for a full-time board-certified or board eligible Oncologist to join our team. The position will provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative outpatient Hematologic and Oncologic care. Duty location is in Columbus, OH. Duties include, but are not limited to: Providing Hematology/Oncology care to our Veteran patients, including seeing patients in an outpatient clinic setting, prescribing chemotherapeutic and non-chemo medications, and an opportunity to perform bone marrow aspirations and biopsies. Documenting clinical encounters in a timely manner in our Electronic Health Record. Maintaining accurate data on all procedures. Attending section meetings, quality committee meetings, and similar administrative functions. Preparing monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual reports concerning the department. Preparing and updating policies and procedures for the department in compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization guidelines.
