About this role

DRT MRI West Palm Beach, Florida Summary This Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI0 position is assigned to the West Palm beach VA. Employee at this level are fully credentialed and functional as an MRI technologist. Employee will have varying assignments and can perform routine to complex and specialized studies, with and without administration of contrast materials as prescribed by practitioners. Position is an operator of a Super Conducting Magnet , a highly complex computerized imaging device . Duties a. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentialing as required. Maintains current Talent Management System (TMS) training as required. b. Accurately operates a wide variety of imaging equipment, to obtain examinations of acceptable quality using utilizing the standardized amount of specific absorption rate and/or Bl+ RMS to obtain quality imaging for diagnosis and localization purposes. This includes but is not limited to 1.5 T magnet in 3T magnet and 1.2 open vertical field magnet. c. Technologist works under supervision of the Section Supervisor and or Lead Technologist and rotates all responsibilities within the MRI section. He or she works independently on most exams but confers with radiologists and or Supervisor/ Lead Technologist on more difficult problems. Work is spot checked for achievement of objectives. d. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology including location, appearance, and functioning of the major and minor systems. Knowledge of changes to systems.
