Dentist (Oral Surgery) - Maxillofacial Gainesville, Florida Summary This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will remain on file through 12/31/2026. The first cut-off date is 2/3/2026. Eligible applicants will then be referred every 2 weeks until positions are filled. Applications will only be accepted from all US Citizens Duties The North Florida/South Georgia Gainesville VA Healthcare System's Dental Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Dentist (Oral Surgery). Our ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. The Dentist provides quality patient care in collaboration with other health care professionals. The incumbent will perform specific duties within his/her approved scope of practice. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Be experienced and competent in all phases of OMS including but not limited to dentoalveolar surgery and complex dental extractions, treatment of orofacial infections, treatment of orofacial trauma, preprosthetic surgery, placement of osseointegrated implants, diagnostic procedures consistent with the practice of OMS, surgical treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathosis, and grafting procedures including harvesting of graft material consistent with the practice of OMS. Must be proficient in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment care in all the above areas. Must be trained and competent in providing IV moderate sedation and be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
