Advanced Practice Nurse (Domiciliary Residential Treatment) Tacoma, Washington Summary The Domiciliary Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the general medical care of patients admitted to the 64-bed domiciliary in the Mental Health Residential and Rehabilitation Treatment Program. Duties The Domiciliary Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the general medical care of patients admitted to the 64-bed domiciliary in the Mental Health Residential and Rehabilitation Treatment Program. The NP will work with interdisciplinary teams to co-manage patients. The NP 's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Screening physical exams Comprehensive inpatient admission history and physical examinations Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of general medical conditions in inpatients enrolled in the MHRRTP Monitoring and treatment of withdrawal symptoms Medication assisted treatment of substance use disorders Consultation with or arrangement of consultation visits to specialty providers and services Screening of patients with acute medical complaints and triage to emergency or urgent care services when indicated Collaborative coordination of patient care with medical and mental health providers Documenting assessment and clinical care activities according to standards by Mental Health Service Ordering and interpretation of laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic tests Ordering of medications and monitoring medications to adjust for changes in symptoms and/or side effects Ensure continuity of care Conduct medical screenings of patients referred to the MHRRTP for medical appropriateness for admission Attendance at team meetings Rotation to weekends and/or
