Sports Specialist (Cross Country/Track& Field) Kings Point, New York Summary This position is that of a Sports Specialist (Cross Country/Track&Field Coach) in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York. Duties As a Sports Specialist (Cross Country/Track & Field), you will be required to perform the duties of an Assistant Coach in the Academy's Track and Field Program. You will be responsible for the development and conduct of educational courses and programs, research, instruction and academic counseling of Midshipmen, and assuming a share of departmental and other academic responsibilities. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and experienced professional who works to support the Mission of the USMMA. They must be capable of adjusting to various work environments, physical demands, and schedules. They must be able to work well within the structure of the volleyball staff and must be a positive contributor. Requirements CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: SELECTIVE SERVICE: Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for the Selective Service. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: Applicants may be required to complete a background/security investigation and meet preliminary requirements prior to onboarding. TRIAL PERIOD: This is an Excepted Service position. This job will be filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive service.
