A description of the business units can be found at: https://www.jobs.irs.gov/about/who/business-divisions Position(s) are to be filled in the following area(s): TS - CARE-Customer Assistance, Relationship and Education -Ed 40-41 REVIEW THE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW FOR FURTHER DETAILS Duties The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Provides specialized clerical assistance to Individual Taxpayer Advisory Specialist (ITAS) and other technical specialist by assessing taxpayer needs and directing them to the appropriate individual or area in addition to controlling walk-in area traffic flow and demands. Retrieves transcript of account(s), accepts payments and issues receipts, and input payment transactions to the TAC Security and Remittances Review database. Receives and distributes mail, schedules appointments, maintains office files, inventories tax forms, publications, and non-expendable equipment. Identifies, analyzes, and makes suggestions for resolution or correction to reduce barriers impacting the effectiveness of operations and improve efficiency of the work area. Reviews returns, supporting documents, and monetary receipts for completeness and discrepancies, as well as monitors and tracks information prior to transmission to stakeholders.
