About this role

Recreation Aid/Assistant - Lifeguard Naval Air Station/JRB Fort Worth, Texas Summary This position is located in the Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Branch, of the Community Services Department, Community Support, Commander Navy Region Southeast. The primary function of this position is to perform the duties of a pool lifeguard. Duties At this level the incumbent will be subject to closer supervision. The supervisor, lead, or Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) provide significantly more instruction, training, and guidance for assignments, planning and carrying out assignments, and choosing provisions of applicable guidelines or regulations. Work is closely checked by the supervisor, lead, or Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) for satisfactory fulfillment of instructions. Incumbent will have limited latitude to make independent decisions, as procedures require strict adherence to guidelines and precise attention to detail. Deviations or proposals for changes to procedures require supervisory approval. Guidance will become progressively more general as the incumbent approaches the full performance level. Upon successful completion of all requirements associated with the NF-01 level, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the NF-02 level. Leads and assists in direction of Recreation Assistant (lifeguard) positions; including monitoring pool activities and ensures swimmers are well supervised to ensure all applicable policies and procedures of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) regarding the use of Aquatic facilities and waterfront operations are followed.
